Jumble Sale – £1,534 raised!

The Village Hall Committee held a good old fashioned Jumble Sale on Saturday 2nd of May 2026 which raised a total of £1,534 which will go to support the running of our lovely village hall.

Community Involvement & Donations

We were overwhelmed by the amount of donations of jumble that we received from the Community including a mountain of clothes, bric-a-brac, books, unwanted gifts and lots of other quirky items.

As well as committee members, we received a lot of help from members of the community including setting up, running stalls and clearing up at the end.  Unsold items were sold on-line, given to charity and the few poor quality items taken to the local recycling centre.  All help was very much appreciated.

£2,000 Somerset Community Foundation Award towards Audio, Visual and Lighting Project 2025/26

The Village Hall Committee were delighted to received a £2,000 grant award from the Somerset Community Foundation towards the project to update their Audio, Visual and Lighting equipment which will be used at the village panto, screenings of national sporting & cultural events, live music and other events.

Why are we doing this?

Much of our equipment is quite old, expensive to run and needs to be updated.  Spare parts and consumables are no longer easily available or are very expensive to replace.  The purchase of new equipment will enable us to save costs and put on better events such as the village Panto, screening of national events, films & live music events.

If you don’t have time (or would prefer not) to join a committee, please consider making a donation to help the hardworking Village Hall Committee by making a donation on our Go Fund Me page link below & QR code.
